Christmas Play

At Gma's house, all the kids acted out the nativity. It was very cute. Wee One got to be Mary, Bo was a shepherd, and Dewey was the honorary Baby Jesus (he sat in the audience with us). Gma and Gpa helped the kids tell the story and "herded the shepherds and wisemen" around. When we told the kids to go get their costumes on, Bo was very upset that he couldn't be a pirate, but he got over it quickly enough.

Sledding

We took the kids sledding today since it snowed all night. Dewey wasn't too excited about it, he took a nap, but Bo and Wee One had a blast. Daddy had to pull them most of the way down the hill for them to really get going, but they had fun. We played for about an hour and then headed home for grilled cheese sandwiches!! I think we'll need a better sled before we go again. There were some pretty cool ones at the hill today. Wee One wanted to try something she saw at the hill, but mom and dad said "no". There were a few people who would have their dogs pull them down the hill. It looked a little dangerous to me.

Mass Blogging.....Again!!

In a somewhat random order, here are the things that have been happening lately, and the pictures to prove it. (Note of interest: I took an Ambien about 30 minutes ago, so this should be great fun for all!!)

Dewey is the cutest baby in the whole world. He hates sleeping at night, so he will catnap throughout the day to build up his strength to stay awake all night. I mean, someone has got to keep mom up all night. It's a tough job, but he's very good at it. He was facinated by Christmas. Not so much the presents and stuff, but he loved the wrapping paper and lights. And apparently, some rum pudding so generously fed to him from an unnamed family member. Thanks for that, by the way. Here he is getting ready to throw a tantrum.

I gave him a Christmas ornament, and all was well. He is sitting by himself now, mostly. He has had several crashes that bring me running from the other room, but for the most part, he can do it all by "hims big boy".

Santa wasn't too much of an issue for him. He saw Santa twice this year and both times, he just sorta took it in stride. I guess he figures, "hey, at least someone is holding me, what else could a guy ask for?"

As you can see, Wee One and Bo decorated the tree this year. I was being a scrooge and didn't want to even do Christmas. We left all other decorations in their boxes, but we put up the tree. I think they did a great job. Daddy helped them with the ones on top, but they did most of it themselves. It's nice having kiddos big enough to do stuff like that. They are sweethearts.

Dewey's new favorite pasttime is lying on my bed watching Baby Einstein movies. They mezmorize him. Sometimes that is the only thing I can do to get him calmed down. He has been quite the fussy bug lately, so it's nice to get in a half an hour with him being calm!!!

This is Wee One's famous, "no one else wears fabric to school" outfit. I made her this outfit (which I think is so adorable on her) and she didn't want to wear it to school because, "Mom, no one else wears fabric to school." I said, "So do they all go naked? Cuz I'm not letting you go to school naked." I won that battle and she ended up wearing it to school where she got several comments on how cute her clothes were.

Halloween this year found us in the Hundred Acre Wood. Wee One dressed like Tigger, Bo was Pooh Bear, and Dewey was Piglet. They looked so cute!! Next year I'll have to come up with another trio of characters for them to dress like.

Wee One had a parade at school while she was dressed as Tigger. And, boy, did she play the part well. She Tigger Hopped around the entire school. Afterwards, she kept saying, "Mom, everyone thought I was so cute. They would say, 'Tigger, come give me five.' They really liked me." No self esteem issues there as you can see.

Bo and Daddy needed to clean out the chimney before we could get a fire going. Bo thought he was the coolest little guy ever being able to get on the roof with Daddy. He did a great job and didn't even cry when it was time to get down.

Wee One had a field trip with her class to a pumpkin patch. I got to tag along ; ) It was very cute to see the kids run from place to place. She seems like she knows just what she's doing whenever she is with other kids. She is quite the silly girl.

Dewey is growing up so fast I can't hardly keep up with him. He is already holding his own bottle and feeding himself biter biscuits. Next he'll be driving and going off to college. It's all down hill from here!! He still loves his mommy very much and snuggles with me most nights. (Fine, every night he sleeps in my bed with me. WHATEVER, get over it.)

Bo turned 4 a few months back. This was his "candy cake" and he loved it. I can't believe he is 4 already. Didn't I just give birth to him, like, yesterday? Yikes!! And look at that beauty next to him. She will be six in February. Six is like, old!! I was just six not too long ago I think.

Anyway, things have been going good. Everyone is happy and healthy and hanging in there. We still talk about Charlie and Chelsie quite often, and it helps heal those wounds that still seem so fresh. I think Dewey actually talks to them, once in awhile too, but he won't tell us what they said. Life is funny sometimes. I would give anything to hold my babies even for just one more minute, but at the same time, I wouldn't want to lose what I have learned because of them. To say I am a different person is putting it very lightly. I am excited and nervous to see what Heavenly Father has in store for my family. Whatever it is, we'll be ready......or at least, He'll make us ready and we'll be willing.

Angelversary

Thursday will be Charlie's Angelversary. I can't believe it has been 2 years since I held her and Chelsie in my arms. I can still feel their warm skin under my lips. I can feel the pressure on my finger as Charlie would squeeze it. My heart breaks each time I think of all the things I missed out on with them. I miss them so much. I know I will see them again someday, but it seems like forever. What special children I have, though. I am very lucky to be their mommy.

Life is Moving Quickly

It seems like I have very little time to blog lately, so this is going to be a plethora of information in one post 8 )

Dewey is growing so fast. He is learning to smile at us when we talk to him, and I love it. It makes all that hard work of keeping him happy all worth it. He is such a good baby, and he sleeps so well at night (probably because I hold him all night. DON'T JUDGE ME).

Wee One and Bo love Dewey so much!! They are very good with him and love to help Mommy with little things like bottle feedings, diaper changes, and baths. It is so fun to see them all play together. Wee One and Bo get so excited everytime Dewey smiles at them.

Of course Daddy has to get his Dewey time in too. They like to take naps together. Dewey always seems so comfy in Daddy's arms. He prefers Mommy, but Daddy will do in a pinch.

We had a ward campout this weekend, and we did some pioneer activities. Here they are doing a three legged race and the stick pull. Wee One also did a potato sack race, but Bo ididn't want anything to do with it. Daddy did all of the cooking for the whole ward, and it turned out awesome. He is a great cook. I'm lucky to have a husband who finds pride in taking care of me so well. I don't even have to cook dinner--he does it.

Dewey was blessed yesterday. I made his tuxedo way before he was even born. I think he looked so precious, though. And he was such a good boy. He didn't even cry while Daddy was blessing him. Then we had the family come over to our house for milk and cookies. It was such a special day. I'm so glad that so much of our family was able to be there and share it with us.

Swimming

We went swimming yesterday for our nephew's birthday. The kids had a great time. Bo is finally not afraid of the water. He was so proud of himself for being "just like Wee One". Dewey even had fun putting his feet in the water. Wee One learned a new "whale jump" into the water--she jumps backwards into the pool. She also tried a few front flips in, but that scared me too much.

Our New Puppy

Well, we got our puppy today. He is a brindle boxer and is soooo pretty. We named him Jasper. I guess we just like the "J" names. We're not all that creative. Oh well. The good news is that at least now it's not Dewey's legs that are being used for a tug-a-war. Here's some pics of the pup and the kids.

Welcome Dewey!!!

Dewey was born June 2nd, 2009, at 2:33 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz and was 20 inches long. He is the sweetest little baby ever!! Here are some pictures from his birthday:

This is me, waiting for the epidural and the Pit. We were so nervous at this point, who knows what kind of drama will ensue when one of our children is born.

Dewey is actually his nickname. He was born on his Great-great-grandpa's 105th birthday. Grandpa's name was Clarence Dewey. We wanted to name him after Grandpa, but there's just not much you can do with a name like Clarence Dewey. Most of the time we call him Dewey anyway, though.

Mommy and Daddy are so glad Dewey is here and healthy. He is such a blessing to us. He has healed things in us that, even though we knew they were broken, we didn't realize how broken they truly were. He is a miracle. We know his big sisters were taking good care of him and didn't want to let him go, but we are glad that they did. We look forward to the time we call ALL be a family again together.

Wee One and Bo love Dewey so much. They would hold him all day long if I (and Dewey) would let them. Dewey loves them too. Anytime he is getting fussy and one of the kids starts talking to him, he stops crying and just stares at them. It is very cute to watch.

We will be blessing Dewey in August. We were aiming for July, but his tuxedo is still too big, so we'll wait. I'll give more info on that later.

Baby News

I had a doctor appointment today and everything is looking great with the baby (who, by the way, is still unnamed). Because I am on Heparin (a blood thinner), we will probably have to schedule and induction prior to my due date. I would rather just go into labor naturally, but it is too dangerous being on the blood thinners. I have to be off of them for 24 hours before delivery. Hopefully the baby will give us at least that much notice--you never know with my kids. All is going well, though, and I have faith that we will have a healthy, happy baby at home within the next 33 days. YEAH!!!

A True Artist

I don't know if this is a famous quote or if I just came up with it myself today but here goes: "A True Artist can find his canvas anywhere." And just to prove it, here is a picture of Bo's art during sacrament meeting today. As you can see, he has used my enormously pregnant belly as his empty canvas. He had a great time, though, and it kept him quiet for a few minutes.

Another true artist: Melanie

This is the purse that she made me for the pay-it-forward game. I love it and I've used it everyday since she gave it to me. The picture is bad, but the bottom of the purse is light and dark grey and the top band is bright pink. I have to talk Wee One out of stealing it everyday, but that's okay. She likes it too. I'm excited to get going on the projects for my own pay-it-forward. I still have one person left to respond, so if you haven't done it yet, get on it.

Evil Step Mother

Well, Wee One came up with the coolest game ever today. She wanted to be Cinderella and have me give her chores to do. It worked out awesome because, we got a lot of cleaning done, she thought she was playing, and it was all her idea. I think I might try to play that game with her everyday. The only downfall with it is that I have to be called, "Evil Step Mother" the whole time.

Family Pictures

I finally got around to posting our family pictueres. Aren't you proud of me?
This is Wee One's "angelic" look, we don't see it real often.
I think this one is so cute--the kids are both smiling at the same time!!!!

Wee One and Bo loved having pictures with "just Daddy" and "just Mommy".

Bo's "angelic" look--we actually see this quite often, he is a sweetheart.

The Changing of the Name

So, we decided to change Gabriel's name. I was never too excited about that name; it just didn't seem like that was HIS name. Anyway, tonight it was driving me crazy that this baby isn't named, so I had a face off with Daddy. We each came up with a list of 5 names that we liked. Then we traded lists. I chose one of the names he'd come up with and he chose one of the ones I'd come up with that we liked. Then we put those two names in a hat and Wee One drew one out. So it ends up that the baby's name is Eddie. I love that name!!!! That definitely seems like it is HIS name.

Gee, Thanks

So the other day we were walking through WalMart (because, that's just what we do when we're bored), and Wee One says, "Mom, I would never call you a fat hippo." Two thoughts, really: 1) Well, thanks. That's nice of you to not call me names. 2) Why were you thinking about me and fat hippos at the same time. Oh well, I guess she does have a point. Gabe has decided to grow straight out from my belly, so I am getting quite large. That's alright, though, as long as he just keeps growing like he's supposed to. He is the wiggliest (is that a word?) kid I've had by a long shot, though. Wee One liked to move in the morning, Bo at night, Charlie at lunch, and Chelsie whenever she gathered enough strength to really let me have it, but Gabe just moves constantly all day long. That's good, though. If he goes more than an hour without using my bladder as a trampoline, I start getting worried. It's kind of nice to have that constant reminder that he's okay.

I Hate Stupid People

So last night we decided to take the kids to Leo's to celebrate Daddy finishing up his interview process out at work. We pull up in the parking lot and I happen to look down and see that it is 17 degrees outside. As I opened the door to the van, I felt my nose hairs freeze together (don't you hate that). Then my eyes wonder to the car next to me and what do I find? Inside the car (mind you the car was not running therefore, no heater was on) was an infant seat, including infant, and a two-year old little girl. That's all!! No mom, dad, vicious dog, nothing. I was pissed!!! I might be a little over-sensitive to the treatment of children considering that we had a heck of a time getting pregnant to begin with and then had to let two babies go back home, but I think this would have upset me anyway. So we stand by the car for at least 5 minutes to see who would come out so I could give them a piece of my mind, and no one shows up. Finally I go inside and tell the owner what's going on, hoping he will call the police. Well, he apparently falls into that "stupid people" catergory himself. If I'd have had my cell phone, I would have just called the police myself. Anyway, he decides he needs to verify my story, so he goes outside to get the licence plate number (which I'd already given him). This ticked me off even more, so I went out to the parking lot and asked some random guy for his cell phone. I was on the phone with the police when the restaurant owner called the plate number over the PA system and the "Mother" came out to the car. Daddy gave her a few words (calmly) as she got in and drove away. I'm glad he was there because I had a few other words for her that probably wouldn't have gone over so well. Anyway, the police said they couldn't do anything about it unless they saw it themselves, so nothing happened to her. So I guess this post is a way to vent my frustrations. But don't you hate stupid people too?

It's a Boy!

We had our 20 week ultrasound and found out we are having a little boy. He looks very healthy. And apparently, he is not shy at all. The first thing the ultrasound tech said was, "Oh, it's a boy, and he's not shy about it." That's my boy!! We are very excited about it, although I'll admit, I was pulling for a girl. His due date is still June 7th. We have decided (for today) to name him Gabriel and call him Gabe. Thanks for your love and prayers, we appreciate all of you.

My Family

We haven't taken family pictures in so long it's ridiculous, so we went and had some done the other day. This isn't one of them (obviously), but I'll post them when I get them back. I think they turned out soooooo cute. But how could they not be cute with my kids in them--right?

We find out about the baby this Friday; I am extremely nervous. This is the appointment that all hell broke loose with the twins. I was only 18 weeks when we found out the gender of the twins. Week 21 is when my water broke with them, and that's how far along I am now. My anxiety level in growing a little, but I feel like things will be alright.
If the baby's movements now are any indication of how it will be like once it's born, I am in BIG trouble. This kid doesn't stop moving. The other day I was in the bathtub and I could actually see my stomach bulge up when it would kick---and we're only 21 weeks!!!!

Anyway, I'm glad to have my computer back and be back in touch with the world again!!

FINALLY!!!

Yeah, my computer is finally back from being repaired. I feel I've lost touch with the outside world for a few weeks. It's good to have it back, though. BTW: We've canceled our home phone, so if you need to get ahold of me, email or call my cell.
